CONCLUSION

The research study will produce a new system that categorized as an upgraded system. Previously, basic locker are using a key lock as a security to their locker to prevent locker from been hack by the theft. There are advantages when using a new system which to help the user when they going outside leave the room.

The Locker Security Monitoring System is a sophisticated system to build but it is very worthwhile when the project complete. The main factor and reason why this project are develop because in collage hostel always have a cases student are loss their belonging item and gadget when the leave their room or locker. If the theft tries to open by inserting incorrect password or try to force to open the locker, the magnetic sensor automatically, detect and send the signal to PIC controller. When the PIC received the signal its will send to warden office computer through the wireless signal. From here warden will know which room or locker had been hack by theft.

The main target user is actually for the collage hostel student. This project will help either warden or student to reduce the criminal cases in the collage hostel. Other than that its will make student fell more safety to left their personal belonging in the locker.

COMPONENT USED

PIC 16F877A

This project is outfitted with a microcontroller, Peripheral Interface Controller 16F877A (PIC16F877A). This powerful (200 nanosecond instruction execution) yet easy-to-program (only 35 single word instructions) CMOS FLASH-based 8-bit microcontroller packs Microchip's powerful PIC architecture into an 28 pin package and is upwards compatible with the PIC16C5X, PIC12CXXX and PIC16C7X devices.

The PIC16F877A features 128 bytes of EEPROM data memory, self programming, an ICD, 2 Comparators, 5 channels of 10-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter, the synchronous serial port can be configured as either 3-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or the 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (IC) bus and a Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (USART).

SKXBEE WIRELESS

SKXBee has been designed for 5V TTL logic interface, no extra voltage divider is necessary. With minimum interface, it is ready to connect to microcontroller for embedded XBee development. Furthermore, on board
USB to UART converter offer easy yet reliable communication to PC for functionality test and as XBee dongle. SKXBee can support both XBee and XBee PRO because they are interchangeable and pin-to-pin compatible with each other.

RESOURCE PLANNING

BLOCK DIAGRAM

EXPLANATION PROCESS OF PROJECT

Figure 1 above shows a block diagram of Locker Security Monitoring System working process. The system consists of several part, starting from inserting the password, part when the locker will open and computer received the signal if their locker been hacked.

At the inserting password part, user a insert the password by using the keypad 4 x 3 size. The PIC 16F877A will trigger the password either correct or false and give the user 5 time chance. The LCD will display the number of password every time user inserting. If the passwords are correct, the door will unlock, and locker are able to open. If the password are incorrect until 6 time, the PIC 16F877A automatically send the signal to the computer true SKXBee wireless.

At the transmitter part, when PIC 16F877A trigger the password that inserting are incorrect, PIC microcontroller will interface and send a signal to transmitter. The, tha data will encoded and transmit to the receiver by using SKXBee Wireless. At the receiver, the data that receive from the SKXBee Wireless transmitter will be decoded before sent it to the personal computer. At the personal computer, the data will be monitor and analyze by using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition programmed. At here, the warden are able to know which locker have been hacked.

TOOL USED

Since this project consist of hardware and software parts, there some tools that will used to build for both system. For software, will use PIC C compiler program as a based to write, compile program and burn them to the PIC. Meanwhile, multisim, P-spice and Proteus are software that will to simulate circuit, design schematic, circuit design and simulate the program. Visual basic 2008 software will to interface between computer and receiver. For hardware, need to build some work such as circuit casing and locker model

UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT AND THEORY

Keypad 4 x 3 are used in this project, the reason for using this type of keypad because its easy to be implement and their price much cheaper and easy to buy the item. LCD are use to display bit of password that had been enter by user. User need to enter the password by inserting 6 bit. After that, the PIC 16F877A will trigger the password either true or false. PIC 16F877A are use in this project because their price much cheaper, easy to buy at the market and their data base much larger than other PIC. Its also easy to configurations compare other PIC controller. If true, magnetic door are open and magnetic sensor are off. If false, user will give chance until five times to enter the password. After five times, no more chance and buzzer is on to alerting the user. If locker been theft, magnetic sensor will be on will on transmitter the signal. The transmitter will sent signal to receiver and the signal will show in computer to tell that locker had been theft.

METHODOLOGY

LITERATURE REVIEW

Before do the project, it must to some research about the project. The research consist of problem happened, solution idea, develop of  idea and  motive of the idea. The idea of the project is based on problem happened and the method to solve the problem. During research, the idea comes from the key lock security system. Therefore, the idea is build and expend with monitoring system to increase security.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this project is to study and develop the locker security monitoring system that used for security and surveillance system. The purpose of this system is to increase security in hostel college and easy to trace theft locker (by giving specific location).

·         To design a door lock system which efficient, low cost and can be implement to home and office security system.
·         To develop a security system that able to increase security and give secure constantly.

SCOPE OF STUDY

In this project, there a few of research that are need to doing, in case to understanding about the project and their function.

Ø  To understanding more detail about the function of security locker and how the producer about the project

Ø  To prevent any problem occurs toward the function of this project

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The main problem that this project attempts to solve locker from rob.  There must be an efficient and reliable system to help the user especially student to lock the door. Even they are forgotten to lock the locker, the system will be locked automatically by using magnetic door lock.

Most lockers are design with key lock commonly suffer from some possible flaws such as lost key, unauthorized key part, forgot to bring keys and the most serious problem is they are forgot to lock the locker because the are careless. The locker security system proposes proper system that is user easy to access. Using keypad, user can enter and reset the password.  This system also can adapt to home and office door. Besides, it low cost and offer more secure to user.

Work as hostel warden is very busy especially with routine job. So that, they very difficult to monitor hostel surveillance and student safety. This system is design to assist warden job in order to provide high security in hostel. For example, if theft happened warden easy to trace the broken locker using computer. That system is developing by computer program.  The programs, develop using Visual basic 2008 as the program that use to configure the computer that related to the PIC controller program.

INTRODUCTION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Locker security monitoring system is a system that designed for solution security system in college hostel. The problems that able be solve by using this system are theft, trace location of locker (especially for hostel warden) and user security lock (user able to set and reset the password). This system has already applied in market but there are some improvement been develop in order to make this system more practical, effective and sophisticated as well. For example, LCD to display input enters from user and combination of transmitter and receiver to transmit and receive the signal to the computer. In this system, user will locked their locker by inserting the secret password instead of keys. In addition, the broken locker at collage hostel can be monitor trough to the computer.
